Aleace & Lee

The Couple and Their Decision to Plan a Big Island Elopement

Like many couples today, Lee and Aleace met online. Over time, their relationship got more serious and they each knew that they had found their person.

One year, before Christmas, Lee planned a surprise proposal and proposed to Aleace in front of a giant Christmas tree in Dollywood. She described that moment to me as one that felt like it was “straight out of a Hallmark movie.”

When deciding where to elope, the decision was actually quite easy. Lee and Aleace had been given a fully paid trip to Hawaii and they thought that this would be the perfect place to elope! Connection is really important to the couple so they decided not to have a big wedding and instead, have an intentional Big Island elopement just for themselves.

From Exchanging Vows on a Black Sand Beach To Reading Letters from Family, this Is How To Elope on Big Island, Hawaii Adventurously

Lee and Aleace’s Big Island elopement day started out with the couple getting ready separately at their condo. They shared a sweet first look outside before FaceTiming with their loved ones to say Aloha.

We then drove and hiked to their elopement ceremony location – the most beautiful black sand beach on the northern tip of the island. There, the couple exchanged personal vows and spent the rest of the evening running around taking beach elopement photos all the way into blue hour.

As the sun began to set on the horizon, Aleace and Lee took a few minutes and sat on the beach, reading letters from their family. This is one of our favorite ways couples include meaningful moments in their elopement and is a great way to include loved ones in your special day.

Aleace and Lee, congratulations again on your Big Island elopement, and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day!
