The Couple and Their Decision to Elope at La Push Beach

Today’s couple is very near to my heart. I first met Alban while we were working together as nurses in the ICU. In fact, not only did we work together, but later when Alban moved to another hospital, that’s where he met Stevie!

Stevie and Alban love being adventurous and have been on multiple hiking and camping trips together so when they reached out to start planning their adventure elopement, I knew we had to find the perfect place! A place that would not only give them the adventure they were looking for but one that was also easy enough to access for them and their family.

One of the things that were most important to Stevie and Alban was to be surrounded by loved ones on their special day. The couple – who had also recently become first-time parents – wanted to elope with a few of their favorite humans and of course, they also planned to bring their baby girl, Gemma along making it the sweetest family elopement ever!

From the beginning, Stevie and Alban wanted a low-key, simple day with zero pressure; a non-traditional way to celebrate their love and all they have overcome together as a couple. I shared my last few available dates for the year and the couple decided on a summer elopement at La Push Beach. Since they had recently moved away from Washington State, it was the perfect excuse to come back and visit the place where their love story began.

From Getting Ready as a Family To Running Around the Beach After Dark, this Is How To Elope With Family Adventurously

Stevie and Alban eloped in the middle of summer. Summertime in Washington is usually quite beautiful, but this particular week the whole state of Washington was burning hot everywhere. The moment we stepped foot onto La Push Beach, however, we went from crazy heat to foggy cold which was beyond magical, but more on that later.

The morning of their elopement, Stevie, Alban, and Gemma all spent the morning getting ready together as a family. Fancy as Nancy helped Stevie with her hair while Alban played with baby Gemma on the floor. Afterward, the couple got into their wedding outfits and had a private first look just outside their cabin.

We then headed to La Push Beach where Rain and Pines set up their moody florals, ceremony site, and cake table.

While holding Gemma, Stevie, and Alban exchanged their vows on the beach as the rain lightly fell from the sky. All throughout the ceremony, Gemma kept on smiling at her parents. It seriously was the highlight of the day and made for so many sweet little moments.

Of course, it isn’t a Henry Tieu Photography elopement until it gets dark and moody! After their picnic on the beach, the three of us ran around the beach with our lanterns and headlamps taking moody adventure portraits til long after the sun had set.

My words will never be enough to describe how incredible this day was. Not only did I get to capture these two’s beautiful love against breathtaking landscapes, but I also got to capture the most important person in their lives: their little daughter.

Stevie and Alban, I’m extremely grateful for you guys and for all your love and support. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your incredible day!

Henry was instrumental in one of the best days of my life.

Henry was instrumental in one of the best days of my life. He was able to squeeze my wife and I into his business schedule.

He helped me choose a suit color that would look best in our chosen destination and was always just a text or email away, even while he was galavanting across Italy or Iceland doing other adventure elopements.

From the moment Henry got to our Airbnb, he went to work finding the best lighting and angles for our getting ready photos. He made our rings and other memorabilia look fantastic as well.

We were a little worried that we would be awkward in the photos but the sneak peaks he sent us floored us with how amazing they looked. Needless to say, we will be booking him in the future for our vow renewals and recommend him to everyone who asks. You will not go wrong.
