The Couple and Their Decision to Elope at Big Sur
The California coast is filled with miles and miles of beaches and rocky coasts to choose from for your California elopement, but one of our all-time favorite sections of the coast would have to be Big Sur. Big Sur is a 71-mile stretch of land along the Northern coast of California and it truly has some of the state’s most stunning beach views!
After getting engaged in Yosemite National Park, Ivana and Travis knew they wanted to elope somewhere more private and off the beaten path. They envisioned a location with lots of greenery, cliffs, and mountains. That is how we knew that Big Sur was the perfect place for their elopement because it truly has so much to offer and the landscape is so diverse.
If you’ve ever taken a road trip down Highway 1 through Big Sur you may have noticed that on one side of the highway, you have beaches and cliffs, while on the other side, you have forests and wildflower fields. Not only does this make for a beautiful drive, but it also provides so many beautiful and versatile views for elopements as well. From the Sweetest First Look in the Forest To Adventuring Around the Beaches in Big Sur, this Is How To Elope On the California Coast Adventurously
For Ivana and Travis’ elopement, we met up in the afternoon for their first look at their AirBnB cabin in the Redwoods. We then drove to Garrapata Bluff Trail where Nicole deJong from Eight Wedding Co. set up and officiated their intimate elopement ceremony. With the ocean breeze blowing all around us, Ivana and Travis exchanged vows and promised their love to each other.
After the ceremony, we adventured around the bluffs a bit longer before driving to Soberanes Point to hike for more adventure photos.
