The Couple and Their Decision to Plan a Destination Engagement Session in Vietnam
Wedding days can be personalized in so many ways, and those small personalizations can start long before the day ever arrives.
Bao and Elaine are planning a destination wedding in Vietnam for 2028, and they want to weave Vietnamese culture into every part of their celebration. So when they came to Phú Quốc Island for wedding planning and dress shopping, we decided to turn part of the trip into a destination engagement session!
We found the perfect dress for Elaine at a wedding dress shop in Ho Chi Minh City, then learned we could rent a boat for the day. So, we decided to put the two together and do a Phú Quốc photoshoot on a private boat around the island.

This story is personal for me, because Bao is actually my brother-in-law. Years ago, when I was just starting out and still photographing for fun, I took his senior photos. He was there as I stepped into my next chapter with wedding photography, and now, years later, getting to document his engagement to Elaine as he steps into his next chapter truly means the world to me.
We started their Vietnam engagement photos at The Regent (one of the wedding venues they were considering), then spent the rest of the day exploring the waters around Phú Quốc Island, catching views of Kissing Bridge from the boat, and making our way to Sunset Town to explore more of the island.
