Jack & Rudy

The Couple and Their Decision to Plan a North Cascades National Park Wedding
When Jack and Rudy told me that they wanted to experience that “on top of the world feeling” in the mountains with snow, trees, and an alpine lake, my mind immediately went to one place – North Cascades National Park!
As Sergio and I do with all our couples, I met with them on the phone and they got to share with me a bit of their hearts and what they envisioned for their North Cascades National Park wedding. They told me they wanted a day where they could enjoy the things they liked, like being in nature, and then meeting up with their closest family and friends afterward for their ceremony.
They laid out their vision in detail, and the thing I loved the most about it was that they were describing things that they already loved! They weren’t planning a day filled with things that other people wanted them to do, but things that they loved and wanted, which always make for the best wedding days.

From Sunrise Wedding Portraits To A Guest First Look, This Is How To Plan an Intentional North Cascades National Park Wedding
August is one of the busiest months of the year for a wedding photographer, but it also happens to be one of the best months to elope in the North Cascades (click here to learn more about how to plan a North Cascades National Park wedding).
Jack and Rudy didn’t want to do a typical timeline, so we reversed everything so the grooms could have some private time together at the beginning of their day to enjoy the views and get some North Cascades National Park wedding photos.
We woke up early before the sun rose and hiked during blue hour to an alpine lake in the mountains. As the morning light rose around us, Jack and Roudy changed into their outfits for a first look.
After adventuring around the mountain, the three of us drove to another location to meet up with their loved ones for the ceremony. One of my favorite moments of the day was their first look with their guests (who says a first look has to be with your partner or parents only?).
The grooms wanted to do a “RuVeal” (if you’re a drag race fan, you understand) so we hid them behind the bus they had rented for their guests and surprised their family.
After their wedding ceremony, everyone headed over to the venue for a reception celebration filled with flowers, just like the grooms had envisioned.
On this North Cascades National Park wedding day, I didn’t just feel the love between Jack and Rudy, but also the love that was radiating from their family and their friends.
From learning about them during our morning hike to listening to stories shared during toasts, it was an honor to be surrounded by this amazing group of people.
Jack and Rudy, congrats on your beautiful marriage. You’ve found a home full of love and you deserve every single moment of happiness.
Thanks for trusting in me and allowing me to document your day.
