How much does it cost to elope in Washington State?

Accepted Answer

On average elopements cost anywhere from $5,000 to $15,000 though you can legally get married for as little as $50 - $200. Depending on what county you decide to elope in WA state will determine the legal cost of your elopement. Typically, the application fee in Washington is between $59 and $72 but it is best to call the County Auditor’s office to verify and confirm what type of payment is accepted. The best time to elope in Washington State is when you want to! In all seriousness, summer is the best time to elope in Washington (and our personal favorite) due to the unlimited options available. The fields are covered in wildflowers and the skies are clear and provide a magical atmosphere for all your hiking adventures. However, if you want a winter wonderland, then November - February might be right for you and we can definitely help you find an accessible location. And if you’re looking for all the PNW moody vibes, then March - May and October are just the time!

That’s like asking us to pick our favorite fur baby!!! In all reality, there really is no bad location to elope in Washington State as we have it all, from snowy mountains, wildflowers, rugged beaches, moody forests, dramatic coastlines, and even the desert! Do we need an elopement or wedding permit to get married in Washington State?

Accepted Answer

Per state law, you will need to apply for a marriage license at least 3 days before your elopement date. You can only apply for a license within 60 days of your elopement date. If you are getting married in a National or State park a Special Use permit may be required as well as a parking permit. We will be there every step of the way to help make sure you have all the information you need for your elopement day.

Do we need an officiant to elope in Washington State?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Your officiant can be from any state within the US as long as the ceremony takes place in WA state.

Question 7

How many witnesses do we need for a Washington State elopement?

Accepted Answer

Two witnesses - at least 12 years old or older - must be present at the ceremony. Many times, if our couples do not have any guests present, we act as one of the witnesses for them.
