North Cascades National Park Adventure Elopement | American Alps Off-Road Adventure Wedding

North Cascades National Park Elopement

Why North Cascades National Park Is The Best Place To Elope (in both Washington and the whole U.S):

Surrounded by glacier-clad peaks all around these mountain towns, driving around North Cascades National Park truly is mesmerizing. Did you know that North Cascades has more glaciers than any other U.S. park outside Alaska (according to National Geographic)?

So if you’re looking for a beautiful location for your adventure elopement, North Cascades is the best elopement venue where beauty lies in old-growth forests, snow-topped mountains, rivers, valleys, alpine lakes, lush meadows, and so so so much more.

With that being said, due to its high elevation, best time to visit North Cascades National Park is around June - early October to avoid park closure and frozen roads. This is why during the summer months, I try to encourage as many couples as possible to have their photos documented here. I am a fan of this gorgeous part of Washington State.

The Search For The Most Beautiful Trail Within North Cascades National Park For Jennifer and Jonathan’s Elopement

Doing a quick internet search, you’ll see that many Washington wedding photographers would mention beautiful places like Diablo Lake or Artist Point (Mount Baker). Both are great locations for any photo sessions like engagements, weddings, or elopements. However, North Cascades is way bigger than that. This area is made of three different units: North Cascades National Park, Ross Lake National Recreation Area and Lake Chelan National Recreation Area. As you can see, the possibility is endless in terms of finding beautiful and unique locations for Jennifer and Dan’s adventure elopement

My favorite part of being an adventure elopement photographer is to help my couples find the best location that speaks to their hearts. During the planning stages, I loved that the both Jennifer and Jonathan told me they are seeking unique elopement ideas. They wanted an experience that is different from others. They did not want the typical Instagram or Pinterest photos.

I gave the couple a long list of trails I’ve found. Did you know that there’s a part of North Cascades that you can only get to by seaplane or by ferry? Isn’t that such a cute and unique way to get married? You see, this is included in all my elopement packages, this is what I do, I find cool ways for my couples to experience their elopement day to the fullest.

After a couple of phone calls and lots of internet research, we decided on an off-road adventure to the most secluded picnic area in the North Cascades National Park for this epic adventure elopement. From there, we found a cabin that is both “PNW” and modern.

The night before, I drove Jessi (hair and make up artist) and Viet (elopement planner from Rain and Pines) to the cabin. Took us around 4 hours from downtown Seattle to their cabin but the drive did not feel like it was that long because we were all mesmerized by all the pretty epic views. Jonathan drove into Withdrop (one of the most beautiful mountain towns) and waited for us. He took us to their cabin, fed us cheese and wine, and we chat till past midnight.

The next morning, Jonathan even cooked for us (he’s a chef 😍) as Jennifer was getting ready in the living room. Although this was our first time meeting each other, the couple, myself, Viet, and Jessi all felt like we’ve been friends forever.

This is the secret to adventure elopements and intimate weddings: Connections create beautiful memories and timeless memories captured in the form of photos.

The air was crisp and the day was beautiful. Jennifer and Jonathan were getting ready together. Viet (Rain and Pines) put all the flowers together. Jessi was doing her magic with hair and make up. And I was quite finger-happy with my shutter button :)

We drove over an hour to a lush old-growth forest covered by ferns for their ceremony and then drove over an hour again on this narrow dirt road to another secret mountain location for their adventure photos.

By the time we finished, this adventure elopement was more than 10 hours long. We said goodbye and drove home when the stars came out. I cannot wait for you guys to explore this gorgeous gallery
