For many of us queer people, we spent majority of For many of us queer people, we spent majority of our life wearing masks so we could fit in, so we could feel “ok”, so we wouldn’t get hurt…both emotionally and physically Then we come out and you’d think it’s like the world just opens up. But in reality, we still catch those unwanted glimpses, those whispers, those unwelcome comments about who we are and who we love like it was ever up for a discussion. We don’t crave acceptance because acceptance means we “need” someone else’s approval We crave peace and safety so we can finally take off those masks we put on for so long to finally arrive home…to ourselves…to the people we love…to those who love us back. We need peace and safety NOW more than ever. I spent 2 magical days with M and C at Yosemite National Park and although it was their first time here, we all felt so at home, especially with the amazing community they’ve built I laughed along the stories their friends shared I cried next to their parents during ceremony Yosemite was sunny on the first day and rained the whole time we hiked to Taft point on the second day. The rain was a blessing in disguise. Yes we were all wet but it scared away so many visitors, and we were alone at one of the most popular places in the park When we arrived, the rain stopped but it left behind the most ethereal scenery of a golden sunset against the fog that was lingering on El Capitan. It’s like Mother Nature knew about M and C It’s like she wanted to celebrate the couple in the most special way Because Mother Nature doesn’t discriminate…she doesn’t judge…she exists to nurture us, to inspire us, to protect us Thank you for the most magical time C and M. I documented their elopement and now I got to docu I documented their elopement and now I got to document their maternity and pregnancy announcement. Although we don’t live close, I’ve still gotten to witness so many different versions of J and B. The version of them being excited to elope but unsure how The version of them navigating wildfires but never let what they couldn’t control affect the day they committed to each other The version of them enjoying life as newly weds The version of them nervously, excitedly, yet patiently expecting their special little one who’s coming so soon. Our conversations have shifted from vendor/client small talks to parenthood and babies It’s not everyday that I get to photograph so many important chapters of someone’s life. As a photographer, it’s an honor, one that is bigger than any photography awards out there. Thanks for allowing me to storytell your biggest milestones. B and J, I cannot wait for you to hold your little one, her chest against yours, where you feel her heartbeats and she feels all of your warm embrace. “Not a lot of people get a second chance to reca “Not a lot of people get a second chance to recapture one of the greatest days of their lives and we’re so honored and blessed that you were our second chance.” My heart broke the first time K and S shared with me their story and their wedding photos. I’ll spare the details as it is their story to tell, it isn’t mine. All I can share is: I do believe that the day you get married is significant as it is the start of your next chapter but don’t let the world or social media make you feel less than because it didn’t go as planned. Big or small, traditional weddings or elopements, anything can happen. Just because you understand a piece of something doesn’t mean you understand the entirety of it. So I won’t focus on what could have been but rather, what I can do to create art for K and S. After all these years being a wedding photographer, I’ve learned that life isn’t about trying to hold on, it’s about letting go Holding on makes us long for something that we can’t ever get back Letting go allows us time to savor the good that has happened and space to find peace within K and S let go of what already happened and focus on the what’s in front of them: a beautiful marriage, a brand new adventure, a chance to immerse in the most beautiful landscapes. Soothed by the crisp Fall air, enchanted by the beauty of these Alaskan alpines and glaciers, K and S get to share their vows and their continuing love for each other again…this time in the exact way their hearts truly desire Thank you for allowing me this chance to capture your love

I’d be lying if I said that we planned for the Northern lights. P and J picked 10/10/2024 because it was the only day left I had for this season. None of us knew about the G4 geomagnetic storm and how it’d give us such a magical light show And just days leading to this day, the weather predicted that it would be a cloudy and rainy day All to say is I wholeheartedly believe that life is full of magical moments and sometimes you simply can’t and shouldn’t plan for every single path of life. Bring your veil, I’ll bring the blue hour magic Bring your veil, I’ll bring the blue hour magic 😍 It was such a moody day in the Dolomites. The fog kept rolling in and out and the sound of raindrops on our umbrellas kept us grounded to the magic of being present Being present for me as a photographer is to not only capture the love between M and D but also capturing WHY they are here in this place So I documented her veil, the soft light, the chill wind, the way these two hold on to each other and danced in the rain even when it was already getting so dark. I can’t get over the reactions on M and D when I showed them these photos on the back of my camera I wish you could have been there to feel these emotions with us and witnessed how M and D went all in.
