Oregon Coast: The Best Location For Engagement & Elopement Photos In Oregon
When I think of Oregon, I think of 2 things: waterfalls and the coast.
So when Jonathan and Mikey told me they wanted an adventure by the coast, I knew I had to make them drive all the way from Seattle, WA down to Oregon for their adventure engagement photos.
My home is in Seattle like the couple but when they inquired and expressed their love story, I knew I had to find a place where the couple could run freely and express their love freely :) This is why I suggested the Oregon Coast for them.
If you do a quick google search of “Where to take photos in Oregon Coast” you might run into search results for Cannon Beach. And yes, don’t get me wrong. It’s a beautiful place with the gorgeous and iconic Haystack Rock. However, since it’s probably the number one spot on the list, you can imagine how busy and touristy this place is and being photographed at a crowded location is the last thing you want for your engagement session.
With that in mind, I knew I needed to find a more secluded place with less tourists. When I presented this spot to Jonathan and Mikey, I am so sure I embarrassed myself by screaming with excitement from the top of my lungs.
As a member of the LGBTQ community and as a wedding photographer, I know how important it is to not only find a beautiful place but also a place where my couples (LGBTQ or not) can feel like themselves and can express themselves organically so I can document these moments authentically. I want to be able to document memories in an authentic way so that years from now my couples can see themselves and remind themselves of who they once were, of how their love once was.
