The Couple and Their Decision to Elope in Costa Rica
When Cass and Anna first reached out they didn’t quite know where they wanted to get married. They just envisioned somewhere beautiful with a rainforest and a waterfall. Immediately, Costa Rica came to mind and when I mentioned it to the couple, they were all in. We hopped on a call and after dreaming up a few plans together, it was settled. These two would have an adventure wedding in Costa Rica!
Location scouting is a huge part of what we do as adventure elopement photographers to help our couples find the perfect elopement location. We often say that people don’t know what they don’t know so we never expected couples to come with 1000% of their elopement plan figured out.
From Hiking with Family in the Rain To Jumping Into the River, this Is How To Elope In Costa Rica Adventurously
When we all met up in Costa Rica on the morning of their adventure wedding, I could already feel the excitement in the air.
The brides spend the first couple of hours getting ready and once they both got into their wedding attire, they held the sweetest first look in the rainforest with family watching from a distance.
Afterward everyone packed up to go on a hiking adventure to their ceremony location. The thing about eloping in nature is that you never know about the weather. For our adventure part, we hiked through the tropical rain and got all wet. But the brides never let that affect them and were all smiles the whole way down.
After their ceremony we adventured a little more and took some couple portraits near the river. The brides trusted me so much that they were even willing to jump into the water for some creative portraits.
On our way back to the hotel, we saw some more rain and let me tell you, tropical rain is no joke. But I always say that a family who hikes together, slayyyyys together!

I will say that Henry was the most amazing photographer and human during this whole process! From the very beginning, he started out with a call to get to know my wife and I. Henry took our love story and what we imagined our elopement day would look like and created a truly amazing experience. For the months leading up he always would reach out and make sure there was anything he could do to help! He truly looks at the full experience behind the photo and not just what the photos look like. He did so much research on Costa Rica and the beautiful towns to make sure we chose exactly what we want. He is extremely thoughtful of the couple he is working with the entire time.
One the night before the elopement, we had to change the location and he really calmed us down. He made sure the place we changed to, was actually the better spot (and he was so right!!). He made us feel excited (and little to no stress) during the most stressful time! The day of the elopement, was insanely busy but was so perfect. He literally help keep us on time with everything (we literally are running late to everything) and he had such a calm happy energy while we were nervous and excited. And the photos we have already gotten?!?! AMAZING! Truly shocked my wife and I at 1am looking at this photos we couldn’t believe were us. He truly captured our love between us and our family and friends. We got our sneak peaks so fast and amazed at how amazing they were. We love Henry so much he has gift that not many have. Thank you Henry for sharing that gift with us! If anyone wants to book with him, do it!!! You will not regret it and he will capture what ever moment you want perfectly! 💕
