The Best Micro Wedding Venues in Washington State

If your vision of a wedding day is something intimate, intentional, and surrounded by nature, Washington State is a pretty great place to start. And yes, I may be biased because I live here, but I truly believe it is one of the most beautiful places in the world! From cabins tucked into the mountains to coastal lodges, forest retreats, wineries, and private estates, there are so many incredible micro wedding venues in Washington State.

But one of my favorite things about an intimate wedding is that your venue doesn’t have to be the whole story. It can be the place where you wake up, get ready, celebrate with your loved ones, and have dinner together before adventuring somewhere different for sunset. You can explore a mountain trail after your ceremony, wander along the coast, or simply slow down and enjoy the place you’ve chosen.

That’s really what I wanted to focus on with this guide. I’m sharing some of my favorite Washington micro wedding venues, along with a few ideas for how you could experience the landscapes around them. Some are places I’ve photographed before, while others are venues I think deserve to be on your radar.

Because your wedding deserves more than a beautiful place to get married. It deserves to feel like an experience you’ll remember for the rest of your lives.

How to Choose a Washington Micro Wedding Venue

Before we dive into the list, I want to say one thing: there are a lot of beautiful micro wedding venues in Washington State, and that can make choosing the right one feel like a lot.

Instead of starting with a list of venues and trying to figure out which one looks best, I’d start by thinking about how you actually want to experience your wedding day. A few questions that can help you decide:

• Where do you picture yourselves getting married? On the coast, in the mountains, deep in the forest, or maybe somewhere that gives you a little bit of everything? Starting with a general location in mind can help narrow things down a lot.
• How many people do you want to celebrate with?
• Do you want your venue to be the main experience, or would you rather use it as a home base while you explore the surrounding area?
• How important is onsite lodging? Do you want everyone staying together under one roof, or would separate cabins give you more privacy?
• What do you want to do after the ceremony? Have a beautiful dinner, explore somewhere new, spend time with your guests, or head out for an adventure together?

These questions can help you narrow down not just where you want to get married, but what you want the entire day to feel like. And once you know that, choosing between a cozy cabin in the mountains, a coastal lodge, or a beautiful private estate becomes a whole lot easier.

Mount Rainier Micro Wedding Venues

Altimeter Cabins

Best for couples who want easy access to Mt Rainier with a cozy forest cabin setting for their ceremony

Located just a few miles from the Nisqually entrance to Mt. Rainier, Altimeter Cabins is a rustic cabin micro wedding venue with an outdoor event space. It gives you the flexibility to spend the beginning of your day getting ready and celebrating together before heading into the park for portraits.

Nearby: Mt. Rainier National Park, Nisqually River, and the many trails around the Ashford area.

Wellspring Spa at Rainier

If you’re looking for a little relaxation mixed with mountain adventure, Wellspring Spa is another micro wedding venue located just outside Mt. Rainier National Park. This venue combines cozy forest surroundings, rustic cabins, and a wooded amphitheater for outdoor ceremonies.

North Cascades Micro Wedding Venues

Baker Haus Lodge

Best for couples who want a private mountain lodge with easy access to Artist Point and Mt Baker

Located at the base of Mt. Baker, Baker Haus Lodge blends Bavarian-inspired design with everything you need to host an intimate wedding right on the property. The lodge is surrounded by decks where you can enjoy the beauty of the forest while getting ready or during an intimate reception dinner.

This is a fun option if you want your wedding to feel elevated without losing the feeling of being surrounded by nature.

Olympic Peninsula & Washington Coast Micro Wedding Venues

Agate Beach Lodge

Best for couples who want the ocean, forest and their own private retreat.

Agate Beach Lodge sits on more than 30 acres near Port Angeles, and has its own private beach with ocean views and accommodations for up to 11 guests. This is one of those micro wedding venues in Washington State where you could spend the entire weekend celebrating without ever needing to leave. If you do want to venture out and explore though, there are plenty of options within short driving distance.

This treehouse micro wedding venue is such a fun option. You can exchange vows overlooking the Strait, spend the afternoon tucked away in the trees while enjoying a reception dinner with loved ones, and soak in the fire-heated hot tub with your partner at the end of the day.

If you want your micro wedding to feel more like a summer camp weekend with your favorite people than a traditional wedding day, Captain Whidbey is such a fun option. This historic waterfront inn gives you six acres to explore, cozy lakefront-cabin vibes, waterfront dinners, and plenty of time to slow down, adventure around Whidbey Island.

Treehouse Point

Best for couples who want a forest wedding that feels elevated and comfortable.

Treehouse Point almost feels like something out of Swiss Family Robinson. This Washington micro wedding venue is a collection of beautiful treehouses tucked into the forest near Issaquah. The forest itself gives you plenty to work with, so you can keep the day close to the property or venture out to Snoqualmie if you want a mix of forest and mountain scenery.

JM Cellars in Woodinville is tucked into a forested hillside and offers indoor and outdoor spaces for weddings of up to 100 guests. There’s also a private loft for getting ready, along with gardens, patios, fire pits and plenty of space to gather. This is a great option if you want the feeling of a beautiful dinner party, while still being close enough to Seattle to explore the city or surrounding landscapes.

Tucked among forest, orchards, and the White Salmon River on 13 acres of private land, the property offers views toward Mt. Adams and a relaxed home base where you can plan your weekend around what actually matters to you. It’s a good venue option if you want a beautiful setting and a little more freedom to customize your day, rather than having every part of the wedding dictated by a traditional venue package.
