There are so many moments I love about this day wi There are so many moments I love about this day with A & A in the Swiss Alps: …The foggy sunrise that kept all of us on our toes about what’s to come …The moment they saw each other’s wedding attire for the first time …The way we made art in just a tiny little room in a mountain hut …The hike where Amanda was basically being a mountain goat in her gorgeous dress and Alex and I were holding on to these cables for our dear lives But what I will forever hold close to my heart was right after I took that first image in this series, A and A ran back and gave me a hug that I could feel with all my being. …I felt their heart racing with adrenaline …I felt the way they looked at each other and realized what they had just accomplished …I felt the beginning of their forever In that brief fraction of a second, in front of these mountain, We are just tiny little souls enjoying little moments together…for a finite amount…on this earthly adventure that doesn’t happen again I might not be able to experience that again but this is where these images will forever be the reminder of this adventure of a lifetime that I had the honor to be a part of with A and A. This year, I’ve photographed more than ever befo This year, I’ve photographed more than ever before while learning how to navigate life as a new parent. 49 couples, 7 States, 9 countries, 5 continents Yet I haven’t shared everything I’ve dreamed, crafted, captured, and encapsulated with all my beautiful couples. It felt so free being in those moments and got to create art without fearing what social media might think or what the latest trend is…all I could see in front of me was two people…about to enter the next chapter of their forever…and my only goal was to transform those raw emotions into photographs When I get to live my dreams of turning my hobby into a career…You gave me that When I get to check off the bucket list of photographing on 6 different continents…You gave me that When I get to dream about having children, and actually get to live that dream right now…You gave me that When I get to have food on my table, a roof over my family, and a warm bed for us all to rest…You gave me that Whether you are my family, my clients, my friends, my team, my peers, or maybe just a stranger on the internet who happened to have found this page, thank you for giving me a life that is far more than what I could ever wish for. Out of the 10,000+ images being submitted from pho Out of the 10,000+ images being submitted from photographers around the world, 2 of ours won the 2024 Best of The Best Wedding Photos by @junebugweddings This is the 5th year we’ve won this prestigious award. Being a guest judge for the contest last year, I saw the abundance of talents and creativity each photographer has. And no matter where they are from or what kind of photos they submitted, one thing I saw in all was the fact that they took a chance and the vulnerability to share with the world their hard work. Sergio and I submitted while being in such a different season of life than ever before…one where we are dads to our own family and also photographers who aim to serve our clients to the fullest…one where life somehow speeds up and slows down at the same time. All of us here at the team are so grateful to have won with 2 images. We are grateful for the Junebug team and the judges. We are grateful for K & G who trusted me (Henry) for their elopement in Alaska and M & K who gave all their hearts to Sergio for their elopement in Yosemite. But most of all, we are grateful for all of our couples because creating art with someone is an intimate experience where it is fulfilling enough that we don’t need any awards to acknowledge or to appreciate the amount of love you all give us. When I thought I had seen it all, Rainier showed u When I thought I had seen it all, Rainier showed up in the most unexpected ways. I had this location saved for the longest time but didn’t think anyone would attempt it with me as it isn’t easy to get to. This glacial tarn at Mt. Rainier was one of the first locations I saw on Instagram when I first picked up the camera, way before I could call myself an elopement photographer :) So I saved it, reached out to the rangers to make sure it is permitted to photograph here, and just patiently waited. J and P took a chance on me when they placed all their trust in their elopement experience with me. They took a chance on me again when this day was cloudy and we couldn’t tell whether Mt. Rainier would show up. It’s easy to see beautiful photos on the internet and think that everything would work out. But in the moment, it was hard to see whether hiking up an intense trail without knowing for sure the view would be there was the right decision. But J and P did it anyways. This is one of those things about elopements that many don’t talk about: views are ever guaranteed, only your love is.
