Point Reyes National Seashore Engagement Session | San Francisco Wedding & Elopement Photographer

Windy Point Reyes National Seashore Engagement Session at the light house

Point Reyes National Seashore is about 50 miles Northwest of San Francisco (or about 1.5 hours drive) and truly is one of the most beautiful locations for any engagement session and elopement in the Northern California area.

Connie and Ken randomly found me on Instagram and flew me out to San Francisco for their engagement session. Truly, I don’t think words can ever describe how lucky I am and how grateful I am towards cool clients like these two, the kind that take me all over the world and allow me to witness the beauty our planet truly is.

A little fun story for you: When I first started learning photography, the very first Youtube tutorial video I watched on how to edit photos was actually filmed in Point Reyes. I remember how my jaw was dropped the entire time I watched that video. I told myself that one day I will be there. One day, when I save enough PTOs from work and when I finally save enough money for a small vacation, I will visit Point Reyes.

So when Connie and Ken reached out for an engagement session around San Francisco, I knew I had to recommend Point Reyes to them.

Another story, although this one is not as fun (or is it). The night before their engagement session, my rental got broken into and I got all of my camera gears stolen. I was devastated. I was in so much shock I couldn’t comprehend what just happened. I reached out to a photographer friend I met through Instagram and he let me borrow his cameras for Connie and Ken’s engagement session.

I still remember me shaking at the fact I lost all my gears but still need to learn how to use these cameras I haven’t ever used before at 1 in the morning. I still remember me being grateful for all the help I got from my friend, Sergio who then ended up photographing my 5-year vow renewal, becoming my business partner, and being one of my best friends to this date. There’s always light in the dark.

When I met up with Connie and Ken on the day of their engagement session, that was when I actually told the couple. I figured I didn’t want to worry them. I didn’t want the couple to sit at home and feel anxious about what would happen. Rather, I wanted to get everything figured out so I can be there for them even during the worst time.

We met up around the Point Reyes Station area. This is the last town before all the beautiful viewpoints but also with limited cell signals. We met up, grabbed ice cream, and went on our way.

We stopped by the Cypress Tree Tunnel, photographed Connie and Ken with their fur baby Frankie. Then we drove all the way down to the lighthouse to witness the most beautiful sunset.

There’s something about a California sunset that always makes my heart full with warm feelings.

It was cold, truly, it was an August evening but it was windy and quite freezing. But that sunset put a smile on my face and I am 1000% sure I saw it on Connie’s and Ken’s face as well. We ran around a bit more, embraced the wind, embraced the sun, embraced one another.

By the end of the session, we all couldn’t feel any fingers or toes but it was so worth it.

As I am sitting here writing this blog post, I had already finished photographing their wedding in South Lake Tahoe this year. I am looking back at our photographer/client relationship that turned into a beautiful friendship and I couldn’t help but smiling the entire time I am typing this

Connie, Ken, and Frankie, I miss you all. I am so damn honored and grateful to be there for you guys and to have all your love and support. Thank you for bringing me to San Francisco twice for your engagement and for your wedding. You guys stole a little corner in my heart
