North Cascades National Park offers some of the best mountain views around Washington and the Pacific Northwest, from snow-capped mountain to adventurous hikes to hidden lakes, this place is perfect for any kind of engagement, elopement, and wedding photos

Julia and Alex initially inquired for Olympic National Park for their engagement session. Don’t get me wrong, I think I have mentioned that Olympic is definitely one of my favorite places to photograph since it’s open year round. However, if it’s between Olympic National Park and North Cascades National Park, it will always be North Cascades since this place can only be accessed during such a short amount of time during the year and the beauty here is endless.

Located about 130 miles away from downtown Seattle, North Cascades National Park is anywhere between 2 – 4 hours of driving depends on which entrance and which trail you are looking for. Some iconic places people always talk about are: Artist Point and Diablo Lake. However, North Cascades has so many other epic trails and view points: alpine lakes, snow capped mountains, vista points, etc… If you’re dreaming of an iconic Pacific Northwest engagement or elopement, North Cascades is definitely my number one recommendation.

Enough about the location, I would love to share with you guys more about Julia and Alex and our adventure together. I met up with the couple on a beautiful afternoon in the Fall. The weather was nice and warm but I was not sure how it would turn out to be since the weather changes so quickly around here as well as in high elevation locations. Therefore, I spoke with the couple and prepared them to pack extra clothes just in case we need to deal with any kind of weather condition.

With about 3-hour car ride each way, we had plenty of time to catch up in the car. This was my first time meeting Julia and Alex and I appreciate that we had those hours together. We learned about each other’s hobbies, passions, and most importantly, Julia and Alex’s story.

When we arrived at Mount Baker, the temperature dropped quite a bit. We went on our adventure and look for beautiful backdrops for their engagement photos and it wasn’t a hard mission to do since we had a 360 degree view of the whole place. We ran around, laughed like little kids, and jumped on all kind of things. After learning that Alex loves jumping, I made him jump nonstop for these photos haha, check out their photos below.

When the sun set behind Mt. Baker, the temperature dropped even more, at least by 10 degrees, but somehow we did not even notice until we finished with the whole session. I truly think it was because we had too much fun 😘.

After a full day of driving and adventuring, we still had to drive another 3 hours to get home. Although we were all exhausted, we still talked like crazy. From dancing to 212 by Azealia Banks to talking about Schitt’s Creek, not really sure where we got all the energy from.

Julia and Alex, I truly cannot wait for your wedding. I am extremely grateful for you guys. Your trust allowed me to capture you guys organically and freely. These photos meant the world to my heart and I hope they do the same to you. I am counting down to your wedding everyday 🙂
