The Couple and Their Decision to Plan a PNW Mountain Elopement
2020 was a difficult year to plan a wedding and Nathan and Vannah were no exception. They reached out to me in early March to start planning a Yosemite National Park elopement, just before the COVID pandemic really hit and we all went into lockdown. We kept planning their elopement to take place in September and were so excited when the park announced that they would re-open just in time for their elopement. But in August, just a month before their elopement day, we started seeing the news about the wildfires in CA. We watched the news constantly in hopes that things would get a little better allowing us to continue with our plans since vendors and lodging had already been booked and we were so ready, but just 19 days before the wedding, Vannah and Nathan decided to change locations rather than change their elopement day. Nothing was going to stop them from getting married to each other!
We quickly adjusted our plans and chose a new elopement location in the North Cascades National Park! Vannah and Nathan had originally planned on a sunny and warm California elopement but instead went with a completely different vibe and got a moody PNW rain elopement. We got rain and snow and the ultimate PNW mood and, let me tell you, it did not disappoint!

From Hiking in the Rain and Snow To Exchanging Vows During the Most Stunning Blue Hours, this Is How To Elope In the Moody PNW Mountains Adventurously
The day started with getting ready photos in the afternoon followed by the sweetest first look and cake photos. Then, we hiked up and dealt with all kinds of moody PNW weather. We experienced rain and snow and eventually made it to our destination where Vannah and Nathan exchanged their vows during the most stunning sunset blue hours. We danced in the rain and drank champagne, taking photos til dark.
No matter what life threw at them Vannah and Nathan gave their all and never gave up on their love. The best photos truly come when couples allow themselves to be immersed in the experience and dance in the rain.
Vannah and Nathan, thank you for trusting me with your photos and for overcoming each obstacle that life threw your way. We appreciate you and admire your determination so much! Come back and visit us one day for more twerk parties in the rain!
