Olympic National Park Elopement | Boho Wedding at Lake Cushman
Surrounded by closest family members, friends and the most beautiful view of this alpine lake, Jo and Austin’s elopement at Lake Cushman is boho, intimate, and full of emotions
Although this is not my first time photographing at Lake Cushman, I was still in awe of how beautiful this place was. Lake Cushman is part of the Olympic National Forest and just about 2 hours South East of Seattle. With its beauty so close to the state Capitol Olympia, Lake Cushman in the summer is a well-known location for campers and hikers.
When I think of the Pacific Northwest, I always imagine photos from this part of Olympic National Park, with views of alpine lakes and green mountains in the back, this spot is so iconic yet not busy so together it’s a perfect location for an elopement if done at the right time of the year. Here are some other engagements and elopements I’ve photographed at Olympic National Park
Jo and Austin wanted an intimate experience. With only 15 friends and family members, the couple rented a private bus to bring everyone here. It was such a neat idea since everyone get to ride together and best of all, we did not have to worry about DD and spent all of our energy on partying 😘🤣.
Teaming up with my husband, Rain and Pines, we listened to what Jo and Austin wanted to bring their vision to life. After the initial inquiry, we jumped on a phone call with the couple. Just like any other elopements, the first phone call is only for us to get to know each other. Jo and Austin are very laid back so we did not have to schedule a lot of calls but everytime we did, we got so much done.
Jo and Austin wanted their elopement to be “boho and free-spirited” and it was so easy to carry out because these values were reflected in who they are, their love for one another, and their relationships with the guests at their elopement. We were a bit behind on time due to traffic. As the couple and I waited for the bus to show up, I could tell they were worried but they were only worried about their guests, not worried about the timeline of the day. We sat down, drank our Cider, and just took in the beautiful views while waiting for everyone.
This was also one of the elopements where I cried my eyeballs out. Jo and Austin, thanks for letting Rain and Pines and I be in charge of planning, designing, photographing, and most importantly documenting your love. We miss you guys everyday
