How this Couple Met and Their Decision to Elope on the Southern Oregon Coast

I always love meeting couples who were referred to us by a past couple we worked with. Henry and I are truly honored every time someone puts their trust in us to photograph their special day, and it’s even more honoring when they share their experience and recommendations with others. This is exactly how Laurel and Sheena found us, so needless to say our elopement planning was off to a great start!

Laurel and Sheena had originally started off as friends but over the years, their love for one another grew and grew. Just as they started to realize their feelings and love for one another, life threw a curveball at them. Sheena had to move away to Minnesota for work so the two decided to put a hold on their relationship. They stayed in touch, but it took 3 years before Sheena moved back to New Jersey. Life had given them a second chance to rekindle their love and neither one of them looked back. Shortly after reuniting, they decided to make it official by getting engaged in front of their closest loved ones.

Laurel and Sheena are a very low-key couple. They knew they wanted to spend their special day together (just the two of them) in a calm, intimate location. The Oregon Coast was a place that they had always wanted to visit so it was easy for them to narrow down their list of locations. They loved the idea of a quiet forest elopement ceremony followed by a picnic on the beach while watching the sunset.

From a Quiet Forest Elopement Ceremony To a Sunset Picnic on the Beach, this Is How To Elope On the Oregon Coast Adventurously

This intimate Southern Oregon Coast elopement day started at the couple’s quiet cabin near the ocean. Laurel and Sheena surprised me by sharing with me that Laurel was two months pregnant and they were expecting twins! (They just recently shared with me that they are expecting a boy and a girl.) The three of us were full of excitement the whole morning and it was such a perfect way to start the day together knowing that their babies were also getting to be a part of their special day.

After the brides finished getting ready, we headed to the redwoods for their first look and forest elopement ceremony. We found the most beautiful little clearing under the trees that gave off the feeling like we had the whole place to ourselves.

After the couple exchanged vows and rings, we explored the forest together a bit longer while taking some couple portraits. After our time there had finished, we headed to the ocean where we set up a picnic on the beach with a perfect view of the sunset. We snacked, danced, popped some champagne, and then ran around the beach during blue hour chasing the very last bit of sunlight.

Laurel and Sheena, your Southern Oregon Coast elopement was absolutely perfect! Congratulations on your marriage and your exciting news. I know you are both going to make great parents!
