Glacier Elopement in Alaska | Alaska Elopement Photographers
The Couple and Their Decision to Plan an Adventurous Helicopter Elopement
I am so grateful for all the amazing relationships this photography career has brought into my life. I met Nicole at my Hey Darling photography workshop. During the 3 days we spent together, I not only learned about her but also learned about Chris during late-night conversations while star-gazing on the coast.
Two years after our workshop had ended, I received an inquiry to document Chris and Nicole’s elopement day and I could not have been more honored and grateful.
Eloping was always an easy decision for this couple. The harder part was “where”. Knowing what I know about the couple – their love for one another, their need for an intimate experience, their unquenchable thirst for adventures with their fur baby Keno, and their need for this day to be one for the books, I knew we had to find a very special place.
After talking with the couple and hearing about some of their favorite memories together, the three of us decided on a helicopter elopement in Alaska filled with multiple locations so we could experience everything from glaciers to mountains.
From Flying to a Remote Mountain To Rowing in a Glacier Pond, this Is How To Plan an Adventurous Helicopter Elopement
Nicole and Chris are adventurous at heart, so it was only fitting that they decided on a helicopter elopement in Alaska. The couple drove over 10,000km (that’s 6,200 miles) to Alaska in their newly remodeled camper van and also brought along their fur baby Keno!
Not only did Nicole and Chris want to plan a secret elopement, but it was also important to them that they included meaningful moments and details to allow their day to be truly their own.
After getting ready in their cabin with fur baby Keno, we drove to Outbound Heli, where we took a flight to the couple’s first look location. Chris had just finished getting his private pilot’s license, so a helicopter flight on their elopement day was the perfect way to add meaningful details to their experience.
We flew to a remote mountain looking over countless peaks and glaciers for their first look. Flying over these landscapes truly took our breaths away and we were all stunned at how incredibly beautiful it all was.
We then landed on a glacier for the couple to exchange their vows and afterward, they drank glacier water and rowed around the pond in inflatable boats.
Later that afternoon, we exchanged life stories and laughter over pizza then ended the night exploring another beautiful Alaska location this time with Keno and their camper van.
Nicole and Chris, words truly aren’t enough to describe your incredible day. Thank you so much for bringing me to Alaska with you and for trusting in me and allowing me to document your day. Congratulations again on your beautiful love and marriage!
