Mt. Rainier A-Frame Cabin Engagement Photos: Utilize Light & Shadow For The Best Intimate Setting
Mount Rainier National Park has tons of gorgeous cabins. But truly, if you are coming this way, you have to stay in an A-Frame cabin for at least one night. At this point, you can probably tell I am pretty obsessed with A-Frame Cabins:

When Morgan and Patrick inquired me for their engagement session and expressed their love for A-Frame Cabins from viewing my work, I knew I had to put them in a cabin somewhere. The thing about the Pacific Northwest weather is that it can be moody, especially during the winter. And with limited sunlight, I had to rely on pockets of light from tiny windows to create an intimate setting for the couple to truly feel comfortable and be able to forget about the world and just live in the moment.
Why Steamy & Intimate Couple Session For Your Engagement Photos?
Everyone expresses love differently and those expressions should be captured in an authentic and organic way. At least that’s my view on wedding and elopement photography. Photos are no longer “let’s go to the city park and kiss each other and the photographer will take all the photos”. Your engagement photos, your wedding photos, your elopement photos should be all about you and however way you want to express your love.
For Morgan and Patrick, an intimate and steamy session feels organic and not forced. And this is very important. With that being said, of course no one is 100% ready to strip down and feel comfortable with a stranger nearby so I connected with the couple way before we met this day. I came in and allowed the couple to take their time, to get used to me, and to eventually forget that I was even there to photograph them.
Incorporating Steamy Session With A Winter Adventure In The Snow, You Get The Most Pacific Northwest Engagement Session Ever 😍
Starting from the A-Frame Cabin, we continued with driving up the mountain towards Mount Rainier National Park. It felt like we were in a snow globe driving up, this was just days before Christmas so we blasted Christmas music and sang along.
When we couldn’t drive anymore, we pulled over and hiked a bit for some adventure engagement photos in the snow. When our hands and fingers were numb from the cold, we went back inside the car to warm up before continuing on with more photos.
We then ended with a night session in the hot tub. Yes, LITERALLY STEAMY SESSION here 🙂 We don’t mess around.
Morgan and Patrick, thanks for such an awesome day full of adventure. These photos are a testament of your trust in my work and I am forever grateful.
